Kumana National Park is located east of Sri Lanka, near the Hambantota district. The park is full of a variety of bird species and flora. Number of shallow lagoons and tanks providing water supply for the wildlife. Kumana Bird Sanctuary was declared in 1938, and it is a place for the migrated birds as well. Thousands of bird species migrate to this area from April to July. Visitors have a great opportunity to observe them leisurely. The park is a combination of huge dry lands, small grasslands, and a variety of flora.
